BECKS' FIRST: Gymnastics

Beckett just finished a toddler gymnastics class at Calgary Stars Gymnastics. He was one of the younger kids in the class so he wasn't quite on the same skill level (or obedience level) as his classmates. It was tricky to get him out of the door on time and he rarely did what he was supposed to but at the end of the day he had a great time every Wednesday. 

We often stopped for water breaks if he got too distracted or grumpy. 

Beckett found his own way to do the activities and never in the order or manner that he was supposed to.

The balance beam he enjoyed because he could do it fairly well.

This trampoline was supposed to be used to practice different kinds of jumps but for Becks it was simply a means to the slide. Haha! He wouldn't go near the big trampoline. 

Disassembling the course. Always. 

Beckett also though that laying on the mats made way more sense than rolling or jumping. Probably a third of each class was spent laying. 

Behind Becks the coaches were setting up a bouncy castle for the kids. Beckett thought that stacking pylons would be more fun. Typical. Haha!

Graduate. Awarded best at ignoring the coaches and breaking obstactles. Kidding. But really. ;)

SECOND: Becks' 2nd Birthday

Today our little man turned 2. We had his party last weekend and I'll post those photos in another post but here is a collection from today:

My Mom bought Becks this HUGE banner that I hung up overnight to surprise him in the morning. As suspected, he loved it!

This was the first attempt. Haha! For the record Becks was hugging Bradie.

I had to post this because there are 12 of them on my phone. Apparently as a 2 year old he has now gained the ability to take a selfie. Haha! 

All tuckered out, getting ready for bed. I'll put the pin away until next year.

BRADIE'S FIRST: Corn Maze Trip

I noticed a pattern while browsing through the pictures in my phone. Beckett, being the rascal that he is, likes to sit in interesting places. Here are a few examples:

ONE MONTH

Life seems to have sped up since the arrival of little Bradie. As every experienced parent will warn; time flies and babies grow too fast. Sigh.. Well, here are a few pictures of Bradie at 1 month old. They aren't the greatest but one month olds aren't the best models. Bradie is beginning to be awake more as she was very sleepy her first month. She is proficient in holding up her head and eating which has been great for Mommy. She is also a poop-monster (tmi, sorrrrry!) and burns through tons of diapers. Her favourite trick is to wait for a brand new diaper which results in marathon diaper changes up to 4 diapers once! She resists nighttime sleep unlike her brother and is a bit fussier in general than Beckett was. We chalk it up to her establishing her presence of the resident princess (haha!). We affectionately refer to her as "Bradie-girl" and "Brady Quinn", or "BQ" for short. As you know her middle name is Elise, and not Quinn, but while I was pregnant I had a dream that we accidentally named her Brady Quinn after the NFL QB (funny, I know). Here are the shots:

FIRST: BIRTHDAY

Almost a year late, but better late than never, right? Here is a selection of photos from Beckett's first birthday party last August. The party was The Very Hungry Caterpillar themed as it was Beckett's very favourite story. Lots of friends and family enjoyed themed snacks, crafts, face painting and other activities. Thank you all for coming and for the generous gifts. I can't wait to celebrate Beckett's second birthday, time sure seems to be flying by! <3
